Dedicated to the memory of Barnaby Price-Thompson

This site is a tribute to Barnaby Price-Thompson. He is much loved and will always be remembered.

Barnaby Taff Price-Thompson, born 29th February 2020 at 6.03am. We sadly lost him four hours later.

It is difficult to believe that it's already been two weeks. There is a big hole in our lives now, there will be forever. Every new memory we make is tinged with sadness because we should have been making memories together, as a trio. Three amigos.

We miss him terribly, but Barnaby lived, and we got to meet him, and my goodness, he was awesome. He was quickly known as Barney, right across the hospital, as he arrived looking cheekier than we had imagined, and with ginger hair... of course.

As parents will know. Nothing can prepare you for the moment your own child looks in your eyes for the first time and the whole world changes. We got to have that moment with our son, and we will be eternally grateful. He recognised us, heard us, and he knew we were there. He struggled on and he was just the bravest little boy. He wanted to spend more time with us, but sadly he couldn't.

Friends & family have been amazing, we feel loved and supported. It can be difficult to know what to say, and we understand that. It's important to us that normal things happen around us. We will catch up with the world again slowly and when we are ready. There is a little video from the Sands charity, which shows how it can feel. We want to talk about what happened, but of course sometimes it will just be too difficult.

We have had lovely flowers and cards and all have been read, cried over, and warmly received. We've had support from the midwives at West Middlesex Hospital, and we got to spend a few days with Barnaby thanks to a special facility provided by Sands. With that in mind, if you want to send us something, please donate to Sands instead and contribute to an important charity that has already helped us in these very early stages.

The road at the moment feels very long, and bumpy, but knowing people are there for us is a huge help. We hope, soon, you will join us to celebrate Barnaby's life. As a very wise person has said to us, we had a lifetime together, it's just that the lifetime we had was all too short.
